Comments on: Feser Can’t Read (and Other Astonishing Facts) https://www.richardcarrier.info/archives/13830 Announcing appearances, publications, and analysis of questions historical, philosophical, and political by author, philosopher, and historian Richard Carrier. Fri, 09 Dec 2022 01:08:11 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.7.1 By: Richard Carrier https://www.richardcarrier.info/archives/13830#comment-30570 Wed, 22 Jul 2020 02:37:41 +0000 https://www.richardcarrier.info/?p=13830#comment-30570 Update: Apparently, horrendously sucking at reading what people write is a pastime of Feser. See this scathingly witty expose of his colleague David Bentley Hart. Hart was victimized by the same egregious behavior of Feser failing, indeed even refusing, to read what someone wrote before unabashedly criticizing it.

In which he demonstrates he still can’t read and still isn’t responding to anything I actually argued.

I had a run in with Feser and Feserites some years ago when I criticized his book ‘The Last Superstition’ when it came out. He was using his Thomistic arguments to ‘prove’ atheism was a nonsensical self-refuting position. While some conservatives want to turn the clock back to the 1950s, or the 19th century, he seems to want to turn the clock back all the way back to the Dark Ages.

It is time. All as one static, unchanging, multi-dimensional object. It therefore has no location and doesn’t actually ever “change” in any sense relevant to his argument. It is simply the simultaneous realization of all things necessary and contingent.” With a hyperlink to my past article on the scientific evidence for the B-theory of time.
