I’ll be doing happy hour at Cantina Mayahuel in San Diego on Thursday, November 29, from 4 to 6pm, at 2934 Adams Ave. Come hang out, chat on any subjects, and if you’re keen, get some books signed!
I’ll then be hanging out and selling & signing books again at the Uptown Arts Bar in Kansas City on Saturday, December 8, from 7 to 9pm, at 3611 Broadway.
And I’ll be doing the same at O’Neill’s in Nob Hill in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from 7-9pm on Thursday, 6 December 2018, at 4310 Central Ave SE.
Richard, I’ve heard just about every lecture of yours on UTube. You refrain from calling people “cranks” except for Atwill. Didn’t Constantine take the name Flavian? Wasn’t Josephus a member of Titus’ court? Some level of conspiracy is implied here. I want to remind you that many of the castles in Europe have or had signs saying in effect, “What is said here stays here.” It is a signature attribute of aristocracy.
There is absolutely no logical argument from “Josephus became a Flavian” to “the Flavians invented Christianity and Josephus wrote the New Testament.” Absolutely zero. Even to think that would be a logical argument is crank by definition. And there is a lot more illogical crankery than that in Atwill. Meanwhile, Flavius was an extremely common name and there were hundreds of Flavians in government positions over the centuries. Constantine most likely descends from a nephew of Vespasian, a distant relative of Titus, and not a direct descendant of the imperial family. But there is no logical connection between this fact and Christianity. Because there is no logical connection between any Flavians and Christianity.
I hope to be able to hang out. I actually crossed paths with you in San Diego for the Monster on Sunday album party but at the time I wasn’t aware of how much of a bad ass you are…lol. I was new to the atheist scene at the time and still only have about 7 years under my belt having left 20+ years of Christianity. At any rate, hope to run into you this time with a proper greeting. Great work Richard!
See you in KC!
Love it! Cantina Mayahuel is amazing – great margaritas
