One of my girlfriends and I are getting married (yes, we’re both still polyamorous; everyone always asks) and I’m moving to Georgia (yes, the other side of the country; the South; humid town; etcerera).
This means this is the last chance for anyone in Southern California to have me give a presentation, or hang out and buy signed books in person. If you have a group here, or an organization, or even just a loose social circle who would like to have me in for a casual pubmeet, house party, or lecture, get in touch with me now. See my Events Calendar for avails (I’m gone by end of May).
I require only $50 in advance to cover transportation. Plus some food and drink.
The weather is better in Asheville NC, higher elevation, cleaner air and water.
Congratulations for you both! Enjoy Georgia and it’s heat…LOL
Hey Richard.
Firstly Congratulations!
Secondly, as a segway from your announcement could you please provide us with some insight as to what this polyamorous marriage means to you?
Obviously there is not religious purpose or meaning to it. But if you were going to be free to be with other people you could’ve done that without getting married. Traditional marriage includes the idea that two people commit themselves (their bodies) to one another.
And in a religous sense they are supposed to become “as one”.Of course many people don’t desire or buy into that so they just never get married.
So what does marriage (this marriage) mean to you and what do you see as the purpose, need, or benefit of doing it?
To be clear I’m not at all judging you, I’m actually just quite curious about it and suspect others might be as well.
Marriage is a government contract that comes with over a thousand statutory benefits. That is the only function marriage really has.
All my other girlfriends are already married, and have been for years. So my wife and I decided to get hitched to take advantage of the resulting legal benefits, including the veteran’s marital benefit for buying a home, which we will do soon, as well as the ability to act more easily on each other’s behalf in business and medical matters.
With all due respect, GEORGIA? You’ll need more than good luck down there. Well, the wishes of the gods are inscrutable. Good luck.
Best of luck to you!
Thanks for saying.
I would like to wish you and your fiance a huge congratulations on your engagement. All the very best.
Thank you!
Welcome to Georgia. I live in Cedartown. It’s a friendly little village up in the northwest part of the state, far from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta.
Yes. Yes, I know. You’re a flaming liberal, but we all can’t be perfect. Ha! Ha! just kidding. I enjoy your work immensely.
Thank you for the well wishes.
It’s always nice to hear people like to openly celebrate their love for eachother! Congratulations to you both!
Congratulations to both of you! Wonderful news. Safe travels Richard!
Thank you!
Congratulations on the upcoming wedding! Why anyone would leave California to move to Georgia, is beyond my understanding, but you’re a very smart guy, so I’m sure you have good reasons. Georgia will benefit from your presence there! Good luck on the move!
I can afford to live in Georgia. I can barely afford to live in California. Its cost of living is outrageous now. Plus my wife has a good job in Georgia.
Congratulations Richard, happy for you! What is bringing you to Georgia??
Wife has a good job there and housing is affordable (unlike California).
Welcome to Georgia/ Best of everything in life for the both of you. Hope that you can get to Athens Ga. sometime. Love you bro. Your scholarship is much appreciated as are you.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Richard, I have been a LOOONG time fan. Yes, since your very first debate with Bill Craig. I work in Marietta, not too far from you. What does one need to do to get to meet you?
Hello!
The simplest way is to reach out to me on Facebook messenger and offer to buy me dinner and drinks out. We can coordinate from there. I’ll gladly hang and chat and (if you want) sign any books (or sell and sign some; I have some stock).
If you don’t have that app, then let me know, and I’ll get in touch with you via your backend email that you used on login (it is not public, but I can see it).
