Thank you to everyone who donated or brought me paying work to help us make closing costs on a new home. I appreciate everyone’s support.
Our timeline was tight but we did it. Our rental home being sold, we had to vacate by end of this month. But we closed on a new little house on a forested lot we’re calling Hobbit’s Landing this week, and we’ll be all moved in time. And by the skin of our bank account’s teeth! (And, of course, the United States Veteran’s Mortgage Program.)
This is also why I have been AFK the last few days (if you noticed)—so much to do to prep the new house.
Now onward we go!
congrats to you
Thank you!
(And to everyone else in comments below I might have missed replying to!)
That’s Terrific Richard..! Congratulations…!
Who’s decorating?! LOL
Richard, all the best to you.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Dear Richard,
Good luck in your new place and continue with the good work.
Thank you!
That’s such good news Richard. I wish my GoFundMe for my Ukrainian student would gain traction. She escaped to Romania with her eight year old child from the constant attacks on Kyiv . Found an apartment, got the child enrolled in school, but finding work is a problem and both she and her child have PTSD. They do not have enough money for November’s rent or food.
If you or one of your followers would check out the GoFundMe website and pass the word around, she would be so grateful.
Her name is Anastasia Nygrienko on the GFM site.
Readers: Jean Brodie created that GoFundMe and I can vouch for her as a genuine and charitable person.
Nice. Congratulations
Congratulations!
Congrats Richard! Enjoy the new space.
Thank you!
Congratulations Dr C, and many thanks for your intellectual honesty, rigour and bravery in the face of the unnecessary ad hominems to which you have been subjected. Keep going, you will triumph in time!👏
Thank you. I appreciate all that.
My contribution was to purchase Jesus from Outer Space. Although probably not entirely appropriate to ask a question in this forum, if you wouldn’t mind indulging me, the churches that Paul was writing to did not have the Gospels as a source, so what was their source ?
Thank you!
I’m not sure I understand the question. But…
Their source was Jewish scripture (1 Cor. 15:3–4) and revelation to the apostles (1 Cor:5–8), then communicated by the apostles to congregations (Rom. 10:12–15), and confirmed by “miracles” (standard tent show stuff, e.g. faith healing, exorcism, mentalist acts, etc.).
The Gospels were books that didn’t exist until after the apostles were all likely dead. Though once they did exist (as marketing materials responding to and capitalizing on the Jewish War), they then became manuals for conversion, so missionaries (no longer apostles) could spread the word with new (albeit manufactured) authority.
Well done. Congratulations!
Thank you!
Congratulations on your new home. How exciting! A forested lot. Beautiful when the outdoors is an extension of your living space. Wishing your family many years of love and contentment. Margaret
Thank you so much!
Congratulations!
I wish you and your family a lovely time at your new home.
Thank you!
Congratulations, Dr. Carrier! Like me, you were also at the pointy end of the sword of the false goddess of bourgeois liberty, (represented by the “goddess of liberty” statue that stands atop the Texas Capitol building, the REAL religion of Texas), the sword of abomination that “protected” Thomas Jefferson from Sally Hemings, and, hey, we survived! That sword doesn’t protect us, Dr. Carrier! Never forget that!
