I’ve been waiting to see which “alternative” social media would be both workable and gain enough traction to out-compete in membership all the others. The vote is in.

I have now launched a presence on Bluesky (@richardcarrier.info). You can see the butterfly icon now in the right margin along with Facebook and TwiXter. Per my now updated Guide to My Social Media, I’m only allowing people I mention or follow to respond to my posts there, but Patreon patrons get my followback as a perk, so hit me up in the DMs there and I’ll follow you, and then you can engage my posts on Bluesky!

So far I’m mostly using it as an announcement platform, but I’m gradually posting more there like I do on Facebook, and might eventually focus more on interacting on Bluesky than Facebook (as I think people are fleeing the sinking ship of Facebook too, just not as fast as the sinking ship of TwiXter).
