I will be speaking at four different events in Portland, Oregon (and a fifth in Vancouver, Washington), next week. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it to them!
- Next Wednesday (February 25) I will be speaking on “Why History Cannot Establish Jesus Rose from the Dead” for the Freethinkers of PSU on campus at the Smith Memorial Student Union (Rm. 296/8), starting at 6pm.
- The following Thursday (February 26) I will be speaking on “The Real Origins of Christianity” for the HUUmanist Study Group at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Vancouver (Washington–so, just across the border; yes, Portland is that far north!) at 2pm in the RE Main room.
- Then Friday (February 27) I will be speaking on “The Philosophy of Naturalism and How it Relates to Social Justice” at Mother Foucault’s Bookshop from 4pm to 7pm.
- Then Saturday (February 28) I will be speaking on “Historical Method and What Makes for a Good Historian” (and saying a lot about Bayesian reasoning!) for the PDX Skeptics in the Pub at the Lucky Lab Pub on Killingsworth (1700 North Killingsworth, Portland) at 7pm. (Much drinking will ensue.)
- Then Sunday (March 1) I will be speaking again on “The Real Origins of Christianity” for the Humanists of Greater Portland at the Friendly House (NW 26th and Thurman, Portland) at 10am (part of a general program for the day).
I will be selling and signing books at all these events (although I may sell out before the last of them, depending on demand).
