My book On the Historicity of Jesus is now available in audio format. As for all my other audiobooks, I voiced the text myself for Pitchstone Publishing. You can buy the audio edition of Historicity now through Audible.com or Amazon.com and (eventually if not already) iTunes.
This did come out a week ago or so, but I had to delay my official announcement until I completed and uploaded the bibliography file for the visually impaired to use with text-to-speech software, as I have done with most of my other books before this, all of which you can find on audio as well. See bibliographies for the full list of these companion resources for those books. Or go direct to the OHJ PDF bibliography to get the companion file for Historicity.
I am enjoying your audio version very much, especially some of your intonations, slightpauses, and emphases. You are far better than my Kindle text-to-speech app. 🙂 Thanks for your consideration of those of us who are vision-impaired and for those sighted folks who listen while commuting, etc. Great job!
That has to have been a huge work! Over 700 pages of talking. I get exhausted even when reading bedtime stories with my nephew :D.
Hi Richard,
I think you will be glad to know that today on Right-Wing Catholic Radio (aka Relevant Radio) they did a program on the evidence for the resurrection. I didn’t get to listen to much of it, but they seemed to spend quite a bit of time “disproving” the mythicist position. I think this is quite an indicator of progress as thirty years ago Catholics would not have thought that mythicism would even be worthy of “debunking.”
You can listen to the program here: http://relevantradio.streamguys.us/DM%20Archive/DM20150406b.mp3
After the guest “expert” left the host gave his six “proofs” of the resurrection, the last and saddest being all those that died for their belief, which somehow proves the belief to be true. He also described the gospels as basically eyewitness accounts of JC’s life. Neither of those “proofs” require any further intellectual effort.
Hope your audio book does well for you!
