Fellow Jesus myth advocate D.M Murdock, widely known as Acharya S, is dealing with a particularly vicious onslaught of cancer. Given the fact that the U.S. is just about the only first world nation left that doesn’t cover its citizens’ non-elective medical bills, the best we can do is try to help each other pay for our very survival. Murdock and I don’t agree on a lot of things (and not just on the methodology or mythicism issues). But I’m pretty sure we do agree on this. And I believe she deserves a leg up. If you want to help her survive, both literally and financially, send a little her way. Her fundraiser is ongoing here.

I thought ObamaCare took care of all this?
Nope.
All the Affordable Care Act did was curb some corruption in the insurance and medical industry (and expand access to the poor), which will make it cost slightly less, so we pay somewhat outrageous amounts of money instead of totally outrageous amounts of money. It will probably cause a small reduction in medical bill bankruptcies.
Welcome to America.
Richard, do you know the name of the hospital where Dorothy was treated for her cancer?
Thank you
Not off hand. She is now deceased, so I assume this question is moot. But if for some reason you still need to know, Google is your friend.
I just came here to say that DM Murdock was my first exposure to the mythicist position regarding Jesus, and it changed my life. I had started a fervent search for the “real” Jesus, and ended up giving him up altogether. While you may have had professional differences, she was instrumental to many people who learned of this through her. She was accessible and absolutely believed in the good she was doing. I will never be able to thank her enough for her work. Thank you as well for doing yours. Maybe there will come a day when the scales turn and Jesus will become like Zeus or Thor or any of the other godmen through history who are now considered myth.
